Goodbye Barcelona!

This will be my last post from Barcelona, and it comes at the end of a very emotional month. It started out in Mid June when we finally finished clases. It was bitter sweet, happy to have finished, but knowing the goodbye's were going to begin. Then my family arrived in Barcelona, I hadn't seen them in quite some time so I was very happy to have them here. I showed them around Barcelona for a week, took them to Monserrat as well, and of course they came to my graduation. After the graduation we had a private party in one of the nice clubs here, and that would be the last time our class would be all together because some people already began going back home the next day.

That next weekend me and the family went off on a week long Meditarranean cruise. We had alot of fun on the boat, as well as off, and I posted most of the pictures already. Although I am missing some from France & the boat itself.

Then when we got back we all split up as my family did a bit more traveling in Europe before heading back home. I then had a week left to finish my monster thesis, which I had decided to finish before leaving Barcelona. Well I finished it, and defended it yesterday at the University. Long story short I passed therefore I will be getting my actual diploma and official transcripts sent out on August 2nd.

So after a very busy, emotional month I sit here in my flat and think back at what a truly great experience this year has been. It is one of the best choices I could have made. I also got to meet so many great people, some which became great friends. This week has been full of goodbye drinks/dinners/presents and I feel truly blessed.

That being said I will miss Barcelona, but I am looking forward to seeing alot of you back home and finaly getting some In n Out, Dr.Pepper, good mexican food....I will be in L.A. tomorrow night. I will finish posting the pictures some time this week but there are already a bunch of them there you can see.

Finished

So I havent posted in a while (whats new, heheh) but anyhow here goes an update...

I finally finished classes this last Friday and I am now officially done with my MBA. I do however have to defend my thesis on July 17th and then I will hop on a plane back to LA on the 19th. Our graduation ceremony is on June 27th, my Sister (and her family), Diego, and my parent are going to be here in Barcelona next Sunday. They will be here for the graduation, I will also show them around Barca for a week and then on July 1st we are all going on a week long cruise. This is my graduation gift from the family. We leave Barca and stop in Naples, Civitavecchia, Florence, Nice & Marseille should be fun!

I can t believe I only have 1 month left here!! I am going to miss Barcelona alot but I will be back to visit. I have officially made it my 3rd city (behind L.A. and Quito).

Speaking of Ecuador has anyone been watching the world cup? (besides Crista) Ecuador has been kicking serious butt. We play Germany this Tuesday & I smell an upset....but even if we lose it doesnt matter we are already off to the next round.......GO ECUADOR!!

On a final note I will post some new pictures this week & then again in July when I have all the cruise and graduation pics......I will see you guys soon =)

My 100th Post!
(Wow it only took me 3 1/2 years hahaha)

I m sorry for being so bad at updating...Its just that by the time I get home, do homework, eat, I don’t much have the energy to write more. So today I am writing from work, since it’s a little slow today.

So a quick update: French is going better than expected, I think the background in Spanish has helped a lot. School is going well also, I have finals next week and then I am officially at the ‘half-way point’. Work is going good as well, I like the environment there is at the office. I will post some pictures of the WTC here (where I work) soon because it really is a cool looking building that appears to hang over the water (well it kind of does).

As far as other activities, I have gone out a bit on the weekends. I am actually going to Andorra this weekend to ski. Andorra is a small country that lies between Spain and France, they speak a dialect similar to Catalan and have great skiing. I am going cheap because I am going with a Spanish couple that I met here (who have a place up there), I am also going with couple of friends from school. In other words the only thing I will be paying for is the lift ticket and rentals. It should be fun, I haven’t skied since my birthday last year in Mammoth.

I will post pictures from this weekend next week sometime, as well as a few pictures that I took last weekend visiting ‘La Palau de la música Catalana’.

First of all I would like to wish all my good friends a very happy New Year!!!

So much to write about....For starters Christmas was nice, I spent last weekend up at my step-brothers house a bit north of here, and it was very relaxing. He is a chef so needless to say I ate very well for Xmas...then I spent last week finishing up the last paper I had to sent for my European businees enviroment class. After that my friend Toby, Sarah, Vicky, and Bastian came to spend new years here from Germany...we had a great weekend of going out, catching up, dancing, sightseeing, and then we capped it off by having New Years dinner (very traditional here in Spain)and then at midnight we went up to the rooftop terrace and did the countdown & then ate 12 grapes & made twelve wishes as the midnight bells tolled (also very traditional here). After that at around 2am we made our way to Pacha, a nightclub that we had tickets for(for those of you that have been to Ibiza, you know the place), and danced/celebrated until about 6am. I honestly had a great time this weekend, it was nice to have good friends around. Unfortunately I did'nt take alot of pictures but I just posted the ones I did take, and as I get more from other people who took pictures I will add them.

In addition to having a great time, it looks like Toby may be able to get me a couple tickets to the Ecuador-Costa Rica world cup game in Hamburg on June 15th! Even if for some reason he cant get them I am still going to go to Hamburg to visit them & take in the World cup atmosphere during that time...

In other news, I start school again next week, as well as French classes. I am becoming more and more enthralled by Europe & by learning languages. I would like to learn German as well after French. Its not uncommon for people here (like at my work) to speak 4-5 languages...I love it!

Bad Blogger!!!

Hi all! I'm sorry I have not updated for a while. Things have been busy as I have started working part-time in the mornings from 9-1...and then I go straight to school for classes from 3-9. In addition this week we had finals which I had to study for. I cannot believe I am 1/3 of the way done with the school year already!

Other then that things have been pretty much the same here...Its very cold, but I guess thats perfect for Christmas time. It looks like I will be staying here for Christmas, and spending it with my step-brother and his family (who live about a half hour north of here). Then for new years I have some friends who will be coming to spend it in Barcelona! I will keep you posted ;)

Also tomorrow night is our school Christmas dinner, tapas and drinks! I will post pictures from that some time this weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Turkey day to everyone back home. Obviously this is not a Holiday that is celebrated here in Europe, although I did eat a thanksgiving dinner at the Hard Rock cafe with some American friends here, as well as one of our American professors. It definately was not as tasty as a home cooked thanksgiving dinner (the stuffing was horrible!), but it was more about the meaning, and the company anyhow. I have so much to be Thankful for this year, but above all I am thankful for my family, good friends, and a loving God who I am forever indebted to...

I will be posting some pictures shortly from Thanksgiving and this weekend. My birthday is on Sunday, and some friends organized a dinner for me on Saturday night, and then we are all going out to celebrate after that.

November Rain

So it has been raining off an on this weekend here. I got back from Rome on Monday, and the trip was great. On the Friday night I was in Rome Diego called me on my cell, our dialog went something like this...Diego - "Hey bro what are you up to?" Felipe - "Oh nothing much, I'm just sitting here having a beer in front of the Pantheon". This is indicative of the entire 4 days....the city is amazing, there was so much to see. I already posted the pictures, as well as a couple from last night. Tuesday was our last class in one of our marketing courses, so our Professor invited us out to this really nice, really expensive club last night. She paid for all of us to get in (18 Euros a head), as well as took care of the drink tab....apparently she has some money.

Now I am working on a final that I have to turn in on Monday for strategy formulation, next week should be much less hectic then this last one was......Thank God!

Some Bad news and a quick update....

I'll start with the bad. My closest cousin had recently had an episode with a weird type of flu...really more serious then that...she had been hospitalized because she was having trouble breathing and was in danger of going into respiratory arrest for a while there. She was able to recover from that, but now it seems to be coming back & doctors have no idea what is causing it. They are running tests and says she is a 1 in 100,000 case. I would ask that whoever reads my blog please pray for her health as well as my Aunt who is obviously very affected by this......Thank You

Now as far as my update, I am adjusting to life here pretty well...I have mid terms this week, and then I have next week off....originally I was going to meet Diego in Istanbul but apparently filming has taken an extra week so he will still be in 'whatever village' he is in filming during my week off instead of Instanbul. So instead I just booked a very cheap flight to go to Rome for 4 days. I will update as soon as I get back & post some long overdue pictures.

Man Overboard!....ok almost

Well I've been here over a week now & I am starting to get settled in pretty good. I just finished doing some homework I needed to do for tomorrow & getting ready for bed, it's about 3am here. This weekend was fun, I got to hang out with alot of my new classmates. On Friday a classmate who is renting a boat (to live in) while he is here invited the entire class to a party on his boat. It was a nice boat, but not big enough to hold all 25 of us on the top deck. At one point the boat rocked and a bunch of tools, a computer monitor & some purses fell into the water. We were there fishing all the stuff back out of the water....pretty funny. Then to top it all off I almost fell into the water while getting off the boat!

Then Saturday I went to see the church of 'La Sagrada Familia' which Gaudi designed (famous Spanish architect who died back in the 20's). It is a beautiful church & it's not even done yet...Gaudi was so specific in his design that it is estimated to be finished in 2030! I posted some pictures if you are interested in seeing it.

In other news Diego is filming a movie in Turkey right now (opposite Billy Zane) and he'll be there through the end of the month so I might go spend a few days there because I have a week off at the end of the month & he said he can get me a free ticket there.....more to come....

A Post from across the 'Pond'

Well hello there, long time no post. So much has happened since the last time I posted that I dont even know where to start. I was in Ecuador last week which was nice because I needed a week to rest and relax before starting school. It was also great to see my parents, family & of course Anabel. I also got to see the new sky cabs they put in which take you to the top of a mountain which is at about 13,000 feet in elevation (Quito is at just under 10,000) I will post some pictures tomorrow so you can all see how beautiful Quito is & you can also see me up there at the oxygen bar.

I arrived in Barcelona on Saturday and spent most of the weekend jet-lagged. Although I will admit I did go out on Saturday night & ended up sleeping 14 hours straight on Sunday! Anyhow my roomates are great, 1 is from California and the other is from Holland. They are both nice, clean & we all get along good. The apartment is in a great area, safe yet central to everything. I started school yesterday & met alot of my peers. It great to be somewhere where there is soooo much cultural diversity. Tonight I didn't have a late class so about 16 of us went to play soccer. I can say that I am really enjoying myself here in Barcelona, it's an experience I will forever cherish (gee wizz you'd think I've been here a year already!)

Great Wedding, Great Weekend

I just got home today from Sacramento. I was up there for Billys Wedding & it was one of the funnest weekends I've had in a while. The Church was beautiful and the reception was awesome, it was at a vineyard. I was able to hang out with alot of good friends & also got to meet some great people. Rock Star Update

Down to the final four! I'm going to have to predict that it's going to come down to Marty, JD & Suzie in the final 3, of those I honestly have no idea who will win. Mig is good but has been cracking a bit lately & I dont think he fits in with the band. I believe that he hasn't been in the bottom 3 because all of Australia must be voting for him, again I think he's great but not the best for INXS. If I had to pick who I think INXS will pick I'll say.....JD. I dont like him much but I think the band does....

What sucks is that I wont even get to see the last 2 weeks because I'll already be gone. At least I can see the performances online.

Weekend Update

This past weekend was supposed to be our work retreat but it got postponed until October, on one hand it was kind of nice because I got to relax this weekend and take care of some things around town. I also went to see 'The Brothers Grimm' with my bro, I liked it, it was a bit cheesy at times but over all I enjoyed it.

This coming weekend I'm going to College Hume (I know I'm getting too old for this) I wanted to take the opportunity to relax, enjoy Hume one last time & get some fellowship in. The weekend after that I'm going to Billy's Wedding in Sacramento & the weekend after that a few of us are doing a 'Sideways' type trip up to wine country as kind of a going away trip. After taht I have a couple days to pack & I'm of to Ecuador for 5 days & then to Barcelona.

I havent posted pictures in a while & so I will take advantage of all the occasions coming up to take some and post them. FYI we ended up hiring the girl from Biola to replace me, she starts Thursday.

2.1 Million........

So I finally sold the Beamer yesterday and guess who bought it???? Larry H Parkers daughter, isn't that funny. I actually ended up having a couple of Happy hour margaritas with her & her friend. I'm so relieved that I sold now I am ready to leave to Barcelona. I also think I found my replacement at work, I interviewed a girl (who happens to be a Biola Alumni) and she's perfect. She'll interview this week with Cristi & Karla and if they like her she'll start Monday the 29th.

In other news I got my butt kicked at some street fighter style game (gamecube) by Justin & Chris tonight. A few of us went to see Chris & Ashleys new place tonight and to hang out for a while.....tomorrow I'm taking my nieces to Disneyland....must sleep.....

So Saturday afternoon I went to a BBQ at Chris Kattan's house (yes from SNL) My brother is friends with him and so thats why I got to go. He lives fairly close to our place and here is a quick rundown of some of the celebrities that were there...Chris Kattan, Matthew Perry, Rose McGowan, Adrian Brody, Seth Myers, Patricia Arquette, Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Paul Reuben aka PeeWee Herman & Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars)

Considering there was only about 60 people at the BBQ alot of them were celebs & I only talked to 3 - Seth Meyers who was a really good guy, Kristen Bell because she's cute and I watch her show, and Chris Kattan who is also very cool. I did have a brief conversation with Pee Wee but he kinda creeped me out. I'm not one to get star struck because over the years with my bro being an actor I've gotten to meet alot of celebs but it's just a trip to be at a BBQ with that many of them all at once.

Well it's officially August and I'm leaving in about a month and a half. It's crazy because I dont have 1 open weekend from now until then. I was going to Billy's bachelor party next weekend but I cant even go to that (and I'm in the wedding) because I have to go to NY for work. I tried getting out of it every which way but it's a busy weekend for the agency so I have no choice.

I am all ready to go except that I havent sold my car yet, I put it on Auto Trader yesterday so hopefully that will help.

By the way the World Cup starts next summer & I wont be here (I'll be there) but I expect you boys to carry on the tradition of watching the games - Chris, James, Shmitty (who I accidentally called shitty the other night) DONT LET ME DOWN, I'll be checking in on you guys. Maybe now that James is 22 he can bring beer instead of Coke in the bottle...

This Weekend

This past weekend was nice, i went out and visited some of my friends in Corona. On Saturday night I went to Ty's house, I had'nt been there yet to see it (I went to high school with Ty Zamora, the basist for Alien Ant Farm). The house was great we jammed in his studio for a while, barbecued, has some brews, played some pool in his game room where he has all his platinum albums hanging, and then a group of us discussed politics and world issues around the fire pit in the backyard until 4 in the morning (I'm serious)

Then Sunday I hung out with my best buddies from Corona. It was a fun weekend but it also brought back a lot of memories being out there, both good and bad....

Rockstar INXS....

Well I had mixed feelings about this show to begin with.....My thinking was, should you really replace a legend by doing a reality competition alla 'American Idol'. It felt like INXS was selling out in order to be in the spotlight again.

That being said I was excited and interested to see a rock competition. Tonight I was actually a little dissappointed that there wasnt 'as many' high quality singers in the competition, I hope time proves me wrong but I only saw a handfull of the contestants that I think could actually develop into being the lead singer of INXS. My favorite so far is Ty (the guy with the mohawk)

What to say, what to say...

I'm at home right now listening to the 'Eagles' farewell tour DVD live from Melbourne. It's amazing how many good songs these guys have. I am actually going to their concert two weeks before I leave from Spain. It will be a nice American farwell before I head off.

I'm definately the kind of person who can just pick up and leave and be ok away from home.I am also human though, so I am begining to get a little sad about leaving for so long.....it goes with the territory, but I'll be back (or so I think, heheh).

Long Over Due

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. Things at the office have been very busy lately & with the prospect of Visa coming on board we may be even busier.

I spent this weekend in Palm Springs & geeeezzz did I get burnt! I look like a lobster, luckily it will turn into a dark tan within the next couple of days. It was nice in Palm Springs, it was like 95 degrees on Sat & just over 100 yesterday. Nothing like going at the end of July. I basically just hung out at the pool all day & ate out/went out at night.

Other then that there hasn't been a whole lot going on. Spain is just 3 months away & it's creeping up! I am putting my BMW up for sale today (finally) so if you know anyone who is looking to buy let me know. I'll post some pictures this week sometime.

Ecuador beat Argentina this Saturday 2-0 in a World cup qualifying match. It looks as though we will be going to our second straight World cup! The Ecuadorian soccer team seems to be getting better and better as we continue on. In this last round of qualifiers we have managed to beat Brasil, Argentina & Paraguay at home. GO ECUADOR!!

Done Deal!

I found a great apartment in Barcelona & I made a deposit and secured it today. It is in a nice part of the city, close to everything including my school. It's a 3 Bedroom, 1 bath and I will be sharing it with a roomate. For those of you that are thinking of coming to visit, I posted some pictures so you can see what it looks like. The big windows and balconies are nice as well.

Toothless in Toronto

So the weekend before last my parents (who are visiting from Ecuador) came up to L.A. to spend the weekend with me and Diego. We had a nice weekend except for the fact that I woke up with a killer toothache on Saturday morning.....by Sunday night I was taking Advil with beer just to see if anything would take the pain away. I felt like doing what Tom Hanks did in Castaway...hehehe

So I went to the Dentist last Monday morning & I had to have my bottom wisdom teeth taken out, they were both impacted and the one was infected. I ended up having to do it just with local anasthesia because I had to drive myself home.

Then on Wednesday it was off to Toronto with Diego to see his movie in the 'In & Out' film festival.....dont ask. Anyhow Toronto was beautiful, I'll post some pictures in the next couple of days. While I was there I bought the book 'Bono...a conversation with Michka Assayas' & the Canadien price on the back of the book actually applied to me for once...

'Crash'

Well I just got back from Arclight from watching 'Crash' and I was sitting next to Nicole Richie & her boyfriend (DJ AM) L.A. is funny that way, I'm used to seeing celebrities around at some of the events and stuff but it's funny when you run into them doing normal stuff. They have assigned seating at Arclight and I wasn't in my 'assigned seat' so all of a sudden, turns out I was in Nicole's seat but she was cool about it, did'nt ask me to move & just sat down 1 seat over from me.

Well about the movie....'Crash' was very good, it's a great story full of alot of characters full of problems & about racial differences and tensions & sterotypes. As the movie goes on you begin to see how we're all connected and the same but we have our differences as excuses for our behavior sometimes. It's not your usual sappy story where at the end everyone is together singing cumbaya, it ends as it started but with a vested interest in the characters....understanding each of their life problems and struggles. I cant really explain the movie, I just read what I wrote & I'm making no sense.....just go see it =)

Well things are finally in motion in regards to my move to Barcelona. It looks like my departure date will be Sept 28th, I start classes on October 3rd! I finally sold my Toyota & this week I am putting my BMW up for sale. Until I leave I will be driving my brothers Pathfinder (he has another car he drives) I am also finishing up my student Visa paperwork & geeeezzz it's ridiculous the stuff they ask for! I have to get a freakin letter from the FBI stating that I'm cool to go & another one from my doctor saying that I'm in good 'Mental & physical health, free from any contagious diseases & addictions' Besides that I have been looking at different housing options near the University.

In other news I get to go with my bro this year to the Toronto Film Festival, as his movie will also be playing there. We'll be flying into Buffalo, NY on the 18th and driving 2 hours to Toronto so that we can pass through Niagra Falls on the way.

I'm Back...

Well I got back yesterday around noon from Argentina, in total it was a 13 hour flight! I had a really good time. Argentina is known for their meat from raising the cattle, to the way it's cut, to the way it's cooked. I have never had meat as good as I had there, that's the truth. They also have alot of good pasta because alot of the people there are of Italian desent.

I met some wonderful people there who took me around to see alot of the city, including the 2 biggest soccer stadiums (They LOVE their soccer) Buenos Aires is a huge city with lots to do. I also spent a few days at the beach (Mar del Plata) which was also a great city. I went to visit my friend who lives there (I posted some pictures)

If you are looking for somewhere to travel I recommend Argentina (but wait for their Spring or Summer September-March) It is a country with soooo much to see, I didn't even begin to scratch the surface. There is Mendoza which is the wine country there (great wines), Bariloche which is their big ski town (very fun), the Patagonia which is in the South, the beaches, etc etc etc... Not to mention that it's a 3-1 exchange rate right now.

Update

I apologize for not posting anything sooner, I did have a post all ready to go the day after the U2 show but when I submitted it there was some type of error and it all erased. I was so pissed that I did'nt want to re-do the whole thing again.....so in short, the U2 concert was incredible (as always)

My Sister had her baby! Her name is Victoria Elise 7lbs 9oz, I posted a picture of her in 'My Photos'. Everything went well with the birth & she is the cutest little thing. The whole miracle of birth just blows my mind.

And finally I will be leaving to Argentina on Friday, so I wont be posting again until I get back. I will have a bunch of pictures to put up though, thats for sure.

Finally Done.......

My room at my Bro's house is finally done, and I moved my stuff back in there last night! I'm very happy because I've been sleeping upstairs for the last month and a half and my stuff has been spread out everywhere. It looks really cool, I have hardwood floors an awesome paint job, alot more room...I'll post some pics of it later tonight.

In other news my trip to Argentina (April 8-17th) has just gotten a whole lot cheaper. I used miles to get my ticket & then yesterday a good friend of the family told me I could use their house in Buenos Aires while I'm there. There's no one there, they just use it when they go back...I was very jazzed to hear that!

And finally my Mom is here to visit for the next 3-4 months as my Sister is going to give birth this month sometime.

Is it Friday yet???

Well I dont have al whole lot to write about....I have alot to do this week because I will be taking friday off from work to go to a Wedding rehersal for my buddies wedding that is on Sunday. So of course I have to go get my hair cut & pick up my tux on Thursday night.

I'm gonna try to sneak in seeing 'The Aviator' tonight or tomorrow & 'Hotel Rwanda' next week. This way I can make accurate predictions next week on who I think the Academy picks are for Oscar night.

Great Movie

I went to see 'Million Dollar Baby' with my bro tonight and I was pleasantly surprised. Well I guess I wasn't surprised because I had heard it was good. For starters without giving too much away it's a definite tear jerker...If you cry at emotional parts in movies bring a box of tissues. I liked it more then anything for the depth of the characters. Both Clint Eastwood (he's still got it) and HILLARY SWANK did a great job. I would not be surprised to see her and Clint walk out with Oscars (Clint for director) ..It is nothing like a girl version of Rocky if that's what you're thinking.

Morgan Freeman was good but it was his usual character type he always plays. I recommend you all see this before the Oscars.

It was funny because me and Diego went right after working out (the gym is in the same complex) so we showed up in our workout gear like we were hard core boxing fans.

Back from Sin City

This past weekend was my best friends bachelor party and we went to celebrate in Vegas. All in all it was a great weekend. All together we were a group of about 15. We went to some good nightclubs (ghostbar, rain) a private party on Saturday night that I was invited to by a friend from NY, as well as some gambling....then again I only gambled on Friday night. After I saw that I was having horrible luck in blackjack, which I normally do well on, I decided it was just not my weekend.

OK I'm Better Now!

Tuesday I went to buy U2 tickets using my pre-sale code. As I went to log in at 10am everything was going fine until I was about to submit payment and the website goes "poof" and I get some kind of Internal error message! So then it takes me like an hour to get back in and when I enter my code again it tells me "Sorry this code has already been used to purchase tickets" So now I'm pissed and I called ticketmaster and after being on hold and passed around a few times I get a lady who basically tells me I'm screwed. Her exact words were, "well whether you were able to buy the tickets or not, if you entered the code and began the process there is nothing we can do".......I was furious! So I did a little research and emailed a big wig over there. He got back to me yesterday and was able to get me some alright seats for the San Diego show (That is the one I wanted, I've never been to a U2 tour kickoff concert)

So I'm ok now............

The Madness Begins!

So now that I am back in town and catching up with work I am also in the process of applying for my student visa for Spain as well as beginning the financial aid paperwork. I know it's 9 months away but I also know that time is going to fly. In addition I finally put my Toyota up for sale, I think a guy from work is going to buy it though.

Besides that life is good, I was sick last week but I feel much better now. I went to see 'Sideways' last week and I liked the movie a lot but I honestly do not think it is good enough to get best picture at the Oscars....But what do I know, it's just my opinion. Okay I'll stop rambling now.......

Well I'm finally back from what has seemed like a Month long trip, but in a good way. It was great seeing my family especially my Mom and Stepdad as well as hanging out with my bro. We also got to go to Cali, Colombia during their 'Feria' which was really great. Cali has one of the highest concentrations of beautiful women that I've ever seen. I know there have been songs written about them but I did'nt expect there to be that many of them. We also went to the bullfights 2 days in a row.....I posted some pictures from the trip so check them out if you get a chance.

Hello All! I am in Quito, Ecuador. I arrived last Saturday and I am writting this from my parents dial-up connection at their house.

It has been very relaxing so far & on the 28th me and Diego are heading out to Cali, Colombia for 'La Feria de Cali'. There is going to be great bands, bullfight, etc, etc. I will post pictures when I get back.

I went to see 'closer' last night and I have to say that it was very well written. Great acting all around and it had a good ending (in other words not a forced happy ending, rather a more believable ending) There was even some symbolism with the cigarrettes in the movie. I dont want to give anything away so I'll stop there.

So I went to the gym today and no weird head/neck pain...Yay! This means that I can now continue on my goal to hit the gym every day until I leave for Ecuador. I would'nt have to be on such an intense regimine if I had'nt neglected it for so long...

I downloaded the 2 B-side songs that did not make it on the 'How to dismantle an atomic bomb' album (If you would like a copy let me know) 'Mercy', which I think is great and should have been on the album (but i think it was left off because it's 6:40 long) and 'Are you gonna wait forever' which is ok but doesnt fit the overall feel of the album.

I cant believe it's December and that I will be going to Ecuador in just 2 weeks! Wow, time flies.

I went running on Monday night (it was very cold) and about halfway through the run I got a weird pain in the back of my head. It was kind of like a headache meets brain freeze but in the back of my head. Then I ran last night and it happened again! I find this very weird and a little scary...I may just have to get it checked out if it happens again.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone that I was not able to talk to on Thursday. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. My family and I spent the entire Thanksgiving weekend in Mammoth. We skied on Friday and then on Saturday God gave me a nice fresh batch of snow for my birthday ;) In addition my Sister hooked me up with the special edition U2 ipod (Thanks Karla, Tony, Chanel, Naty) I am downloading and transfering music as we speak!

I am not ready to give my thoughts on the new U2 album, I've listened to it about 10 times so far, but I need to listen for another week or so. What I will say is that I like it alot.....

Hey everyone, it's Saturday night about 9:5o pm & I'm getting ready to go out to dinner with my bro. By the way watch out for Diego, he'll be guest starring on a few episodes of 24 this season. I believe they will run in January but I'll let you know when I know exact dates. He also just finished doing a movie with John Larraquette that is due to air on Lifetime (Diego playes a boxer)

I have to start getting to the gym on a regular basis again, I have been very infrequent lately and that is very bad with all of the holidays coming up. So here is my plan...I will go 5 days out of the week and run for 30 minutes each day from now until December 17 when I go to Ecuador. I want to lose weight this Holiday season as opposed to putting on pounds. Anyhow enough about me, U2's album is coming out this week!!! Does anyone know what the easiest way for me to get a copy of the CD the day of is?

So it's true....my blog is back after Chris did an extreme makeover on it for me. In return I promised to update it on a regular basis. I just returned from Chicago & shortly before getting on the plane I received an email from Barcelona Business School letting me know that I have been accepted into their MBA program in International Business YAY! I should be receiving the official acceptance letter in the mail this week. So this means that it is now official, I'll be moving to Barcelona next September.

Now I have to get my Visa paperwork & Financial Aid paperwork going.

Well I booked my trip to Spain finally...I'll be going from April 25-May 9th & spending most of the time at "La Feria de Sevilla" which should be incredible (get to see some bullfighting) Also on the way to Madrid I have a 6 hour layover in Dublin so I think I may just have to leave the airport to go have an authentic brew in an authentic pub...Hmmm

Hello out there.It's been kind of an interesting week. It started on Sunday night when Justin & I went to Alegria in Long Beach to watch Flamenco. Justin got pulled onto the stage and was dancing flamenco with the lady, I wish I would have had my camera!

Anyhow then on Monday after work I decided to stop by the Orange Coast Rep Theatre just to see if there were any auditions coming up......well whatta you know there happen to be an audition for a musical "Sherlock Holmes and the Rat of Sumatra", yes you read right, a musical. Well needless to say I auditioned, figured what the heck. Of course since I did'nt bring music with me to audition I simply had to sing "Take me out to the ballgame" Acapela. I was not comfortable going in to sing but it actually went pretty good. Then we got to the acting and that was alot more comfortable for me (The director had me read alot of the Sherlock Holmes parts) So I guess we'll find out on Friday if I got it.

Well this will be my February posting, since i posted last I have started a new job which I love and went on a roadtrip across the South. My favorite cities by far were New Orleans, Miami, Savahnna, and Memphis (I know Chris really liked Miami too) I have a log that I was going to post from the trip......but I dont have it on me so that will have to wait.

Well, I've decided it is officially time to update my blogger. When I noticed that Brendon has been making entries that made me now the only bum. I am at work today and I work a half day tommorow, after that I have about a week and a day off. During that time I have a friend coming in from DC on the 27th, so I have an array of activities planned for next week. They include Vegas, Disneyland, Universal Studios, L.A., etc, etc. I am looking forward to it, it should be fun acting like a tourist for a week.

Besides that not a whole lot going, we went to Mexico this weekend to distribute gifts. That was a huge blessing. I gave notice at work so January 8th will be my last day, and right after work Chris and I are off to the South. Land of the Southern Belles, lol.
Well I guess I'll be posting more often. By the way congrat's to the recent engagments.

Wow! I have not updated my blog in quite some time. I have been rather busy at work lately (which is where I usually update my blogger) Anyhow If some of you are wondering where I've been, I've been around.....just working at Fluor and on top of that transitioning to my new job in the mean time has made for a lot of long days. The weekends have been full of stuff for the last couple of months too. It looks like December will slow down a bit though and I should be able to be at the Gathering. In the mean time I have been going to Rock Harbor on Sunday Nights.

We went down to Mexico last Saturday with Heathers class from Biola to visit Pastor Bartolo. It was a nice trip, it was good to see his family. It was also very apparent to me that there is a need for us to finish his place and put a roof and floor on it, so we'll be forming a trip again probably on the 21st of December to take a team down there and do it. If you'd be interested in going, and especially if you have building skills, let me know.

I havent posted in a while....havent had a whole lot going on I guess...I have been traveling quite a bit though, I was just looking at my calendar, and the irst Saturday that I can make it to Saturday Service would be Sept 7th assuming nothing else comes up...geeshhhh! I was in Houston this past weekend, and I cant say I was all that impressed, the city itself was ugly, and it was really humid. The hotel was the best though, if you are in Houston I suggest you stay at the Hotel Derek, it was very cool, contemporary. It's hard to explain it's one of those things you just have to see for yourself.

Hi there!, I havent posted in quite sometime. Quarter close at work and moving last week are part of the reason, but mainly it's laziness. Well since I last posted there have been some intersting developments. First off our road trip outline is planned, we like to call it "11 States in 11 Days" ( at least), anyhow it should be great. i cant wait to be in New Orleans.

Another thing I'm still stuck in a split decision about what to do workwise, there have been a few different things that have come up so I plan on making a decision by years end (I realize that sounds a world away, but really it's sooner than i think) So your prayer for clarity of mind and wisdom would be appreciated.

Well, I've officially watched an episode of American Idol. I am now a sellout, if it's any consolation though it was the last episode, and the girl Kelly who won had an excellent voice. Also I got a call from my old Theater professor, he's working for the Riverside repertory theater now and he asked me if I'd be interested in being in "The Miracle Worker". He said that they would be willing to work around my schedule, and be a bit flex with the rehersals, so I may do it....we'll see.

Well I just got from NYC on Sunday and all in all it was a cool trip. I got to go to a Yankee game (which by the way has to be the loudest baseball game i've ever been too), as well as visited ground zero on Saturday...It was pretty crazy to see, in all of busy crowded NY there's a big open block now. I have pic's if anyone wants to see them. Anyhow other than that I got to see some cousins of mine, even golfed with one on Sunday before heading back.

Now it's back to the office, I have been busy filling out paperwork for graduate schools to which I am applying.

Well again it's been a while, and i have no excuse other than laziness. Anyhow last night we watched "Lord of the Rings" in surround sound, it was great. I also now have my own copy. By the way I also highly recomend the Dr.Pepper marinade that Chris made. Well besides that it's work as usual, although it is getting interesting considering the added pressure to go on assignment next summer. So my options will be to move companies, cause some friction and tell them I wont go, or go. Hmmmm anyhow just thinking out loud, I'll continue to pray on it.

Another random thing, I got an e-mail from an old friend from high school, she is living in Huntington Beach. So we're probably gonna go to coffee on Friday and catch up.

Well hello, even though i have been back on my trip a while I have failed to write any entries. The trip was great! I toured alot of Costa Rica. Among a few things I did.....Saw Crocodiles, went river rafting, saw the beaches on both sides, and an active volcano in which I bathed in the hot springs.

I also went on the mens golf retreat this weekend. We didn't do all that great but hanging out was fun. (except when Chris gouged my eye, lol)

Well friends, this is goodbye for a couple of weeks, my dad is doing better. They took the tube out this morning. So that means I can comfortably leave on my trip tommorow morning. So I bid you farewell, when I return I will be back with a few Cuban comodities to share. See you soon...

Well hello, It has been a few days since I have posted. I have been a bit busy with trying to finish my work for the 10 days that I'll be gone, as well as trying to get everything set for the trip. On top of that my dad had a set back, and is back in the hospital. Now it's wait and see again to see if he pulls out. I'll still be going on my trip though, unless there is a major setback between today and Thursday.

I know it seems callous but I'm not as emotionally affected by this as I used to be. I think the reasoning is because we've been through this with him so many times, and since we know he is so fragile, we know it's only a matter of time, so I think I've dealt with a lot of those emotions allready. Of course it will be different when he passes I'm sure.
